The New England Shoulder and Elbow Society is a fledgling organization devoted to the study and practice of upper extremity injuries and ailments. Based at the University of Connecticut in Farmington, CT, the Society is the brainchild of Dr. Jon J.P. Warner (Boston, MA).While at a shoulder meeting in France, Dr. Warner, pitched the idea to a couple of young, eager shoulder and elbow surgeons who ran with it and worked to bring his idea to life. We felt that an annual meeting and a website were essential to give our organization an identity and a presence. Both would also allow professionals devoted to the care of the shoulder and elbow to gather and share information and ideas. Within 13 months, we had both. Beginning in 2004, the NESES – in partnership with Jay Peak Resort in Jay, VT – has hosted an exciting, informative and fun conference with an outstanding regional, national and international faculty.
